Things to make note of:

  • It is generally advised that you have an installer on site for firmware updates, as doors will remain in their current state for the duration of the update. Propping doors open/ temporarily unlocking all doors can prevent you from being locked in/ out.
  • Firmware updates can take several minutes per control unit.
  • When doors are disconnected, they will continue to work as usual due to internal memory.
  • You can stagger firmware updates by only connecting a number of doors at a time.
  1. Check the existing software version
  2. Back up your current database – Go to the Net2 Server Configuration Utility, select the “Database” tab, then click “Create Copy”.
  3. Install the Net2 in your new PC or Server – make sure to unzip the folder. Select the Lite version. If you have a Pro licence, it will transfer over with the database.
